All planning information is provided automatically from engineering and planning application suites, and all actual manufacturing information is captured directly on the shop floor within application suite Visual
Manufacturing Operations™, available real-time.
First this may sound like lots of work, but actually the information is ‘automatically’ retrieved from simple ‘point & click’ and ‘drag & drop’ based applications or directly from Programmable Logic Controllers. All information pulled from different areas is more like a ‘by-product’, automatically available, ready for pick-up. Whether you want to know something about manufacturing performance, quality, issues and actions, the work environment or resources, materials and line logistics, or order status, just open one of the portals and you can see everything, drill-down to lower levels for detailed information, if needed, switch to other information and topics to identify the cause of issues. If required, look at historical or current developments, recognize issues with color-coded alerts. |
|
The applications are defined in their work environment hierarchy, from Manufacturing and Assembly Line Portal™ to Workstation and Machine & Equipment Portal™, each lower level providing more detailed or a different scope of information, while the higher level portals aggregate information automatically.
Manufacturing quality and performance incorporates key performance indicators such as Quality Rate, First Passed Yield, Assembly and Material Quality, Equipment Availability, Performance Efficiency, and Overall Equipment Efficiency
(OEE). This information is validated against constraints, providing color-coded alerts, and can be viewed in so-called ‘flexible time frames’ displaying its development. But even more importantly, it can be viewed with Early Warning focusing real-time on current events, issues and actions, reducing reaction time and ensuring smooth manufacturing and supply operations.
Manufacturing and customer order status, potential delays and on-time delivery, as well as fill rates can be viewed with real-time accuracy. You want to know what the status of a specific customer order or product is? The portal
function 'Manufacturing Sequence Monitoring™' shows you even the workstation it is located at currently.
If any issues occur on the shop floor, potential or actual, information flows to pro-active applications automatically, monitored by responsible personnel and departments. This workflow is automatically processed within the application suites Visual Factory, Manufacturing Performance Management, and Total Quality Management. And if issues are not resolved fast enough and productivity can not be recovered on time, Escalation & Action Management™ submits it to all portals, enabling the respective management to view and support issue resolving activities.
