‘Supply Points’ can be defined on all levels, directly for
workstations, workstation groups, assembly lines and assembly line
groups, central ‘raw-in-process’ locations, material buffer zones,
and warehouses. Within supply points the material may be placed in
zones, racks, shelves, and even mobile equipment like carts or
shelves on wheels, ready for picking, whenever needed.
The identification of what’s to be used, where and when, is fully
integrated in application suite 'Supply Synchronization'. The
assignments of materials to supply points and even into the shelves
or rack compartments are done with simple 'drag & drop'.
Multiple levels of 'backward linked' cycles can be defined to enable
a full supply chain. Logistics
planning state-of-the-art, simple & fast.
Logistics planners leverage this comprehensive tool to identify,
assign, and manage supply cycles within seconds. Supply cycles are
to be planned based on demand, source and cycle requirements, and
dependent on time, because the next change comes for sure.
Supply cycles at the point of use can be defined for different
sources, ‘raw-in-process’, warehouses, feeder assembly lines or
workstations, suppliers and supplying plants. The supply strategy
varies based on material demand requirements, from Kanban cycles,
re-order points, just-in-time, sequenced, and order dependent.
Integrated comprehensive line side calculations and Kanban sizing
provide the right level of line side inventory.
However, due to continuous change impact, line logistics management
is in a constant flow. Demand or model mix changes, engineering
changes of products, sub-assemblies, materials or operations, all
these changes have to cause actions: Materials need to be
re-assigned or replaced, line side inventory is to be re-calculated,
Kanban are to be resized, and a lot more.
Material Synchronization and Supply Cycle Management including
Kanban Management monitor all
changes and provide early warnings, color-coded alerts, showing,
which materials and supply cycles are impacted by change, and when.
A fully integrated Kanban Flex Monitoring application provides all
information required for a potential adjustment based on Kanban
cycle constraints (Kanban Flex Limits™), providing sufficient time
for adjustments before change impact.
